The infrared sensor on one of the mini boxes is not working so I can't set it up

Once paired the mini remote is Bluetooth and doesn't need the sensor.
Have you tried pressing the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the mini box.
If this turns the minibox on
Try completly resetting your mini Bluetooth remote.
Press and hold 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then make sure that you are pointing your remote at the Q box and press 1 & 3 together until the led flashes on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re- pair.

Yeah cheers, but I forgot to mention it hasn't been paired to my new broadband, I've just brought a new tv and decided to re pair with the broadband and tv
