I have sky cinema so discovery is free keeps asking me to upgrade

You do not need Sky Cinema to get Discovey plus on Sky Q.   It's free for all Subscribers but you need to subscribe and activate as per the following link

You may be getting mixed up with Paramount Plus which does need you to have Q Sky Cinema to Activate.

You must follow the procedure to Activate.
