I have been gifted sky q from family

Hi.
my family have moved to USA and are still on contract for a couple of years with their sky. They have kindly gifted this to us and they've given sky our address. I have a sky mobile account but I'm just getting through to the virtual assistant which can't answer my questions.
I have a sky satellite dish(not been used in years) as had the sky glass. Due to cost I stopped my subscription.
I have plugged the q box in but saying no signal.
Anyone from sky help?

@regan89  Simply put what your family has done is wrong they can't gift you anything

they should have cancelled the contract and paid early termination charges and returned the equipment has it was loaned to them for the duration of the contract

the family member who is registered has the account holder is still legally responsible for the account and is the only person who can sort this out by going through the proper cancellations procedure

@regan89  No it won't be a home move I've updated my first post and the family member who is the registered account holder is still legally responsible for the account nothing has been transferred to you

A home move would normally involve an engineer attending to set the equipment up.  (Ensuring there is a dish present with the correct LNB for starters).

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own
