I am paying £8 through Sky. Would I get this cheaper without going through Sky? When renewing my broadband I asked about changing my Netflix to include ads to save money to reduce monthly n payment and was told not unless I take HD which I didn't want. I wondered if now Netflix are removing the basic package, this would be possible and Sky would reduce the cost instead of keep increasing everything?

@Mc67 Hiya with Netflix it used to depend on what packages you have with Sky, as to how many screens and what resolution you get Netflix in but since December 2023 this changed to the following
Ultimate Package includes
Netflix Standard with Ads in HD
Watch on 2 devices.
(list cost £4)
upgrade Boost to Netflix Standard (No Ads). HD
Watch on 2 devices
(list price an additional £6 thus £10 in total for Netflix)
upgrade Boost to Netflix Premium UHD (No Ads)
Watch on 4 devices
(list price an additional £11 thus £15 in total for Netflix)
so you should be able to change to the with adds now
I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer
Sky Q 2 TB (Silver)Box, 2 Mini boxes since June 2016, all connected by wifi
Sky Broadband Hub/SR203, Sky Ultrafast broadband
Ultimate on Demand, Q Experience/UHD, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema
LG 49SJ 810 V UHD TV, Google Pixel 7 Pro mobile

Netflix billed through Sky is still somewhat cheaper than subscribing directly: it's just less good value than it was when the Sky HD and UHD supplements upgraded it.

This was only June they denied my request to change to no ads. I will ring again as I don't see why I would have to pay for HD to have cheaper Netflix and this was during my discussion to renew broadband contract which ultimately increased by £6 per month, so no negotiation on anything else. Take it or leave it basically.😞

As explained above, the Sky HD and UHD add-ons no longer upgrade Netflix: that ceased for new and renewing subscriptions a while ago.
Edit: December 2023
