How to disconnect tv from sky q remote control

The sky engineer connected our Sony Tv to the sky q remote control and I don't want this. I want to use two remote controls separately. How do I undo what the engineer did?

@Sueclive Try resetting your remote.
Press the buttons 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then press 1 & 3 together until the led flashes twice then follow onscreen instructions to repair the remote.

Perhaps you can explain what you mean by 2 remote controls separately 

If you want to use 2 SKY Q remotes with the same TV we can give you details of how to do this (although it is a little convoluted)

Hi @Sueclive 

Press and hold 7 & 9 on the Q remote control.  This will disconnect it from the Q box (Bluetooth) and the TV.

Then make sure that you are pointing your remote at the Q box and press 1 & 3 together until the remote led flashes and just omit the step to pair to TV (just press the Dismiss button( left of Home button)

The Q remote will be paired to the Q box box but not the TV.

I'm not sure what you mean but I use two remotes separately Sky Q remote  operates LG tv and Sky Soundbox and Sky Q

LG Magic remote controls  TV Sky Q box including Sky Q homescreen 

I don't always want to watch Sky Q when I turn the tv on so the LG Magic Remote allows me to operate other devices connected to my tv

Currently when I try to use the Sony tv remote it does not work at all. The tv comes up with a message to say there is an update but I cannot use the tv remote to do this.

and the sky remote does not have an option to update the tv. 

So if I can unlink the tv from the sky remote then I hope I can do the tv update.

hi @Sueclive 

I am afraid unlinking the SKY remote will not have any effect - they work the TV by infrared which just uses pulses to work the TV and the remote itself is not 'known' by the TV. 

You will have to persevere with the TV's own remote - I presume you have checked the batteries in it

Hi @Sueclive 

Now I know your issue the solution with the Sony TV is to look for the Sync button  (or sync menu button). on the Sony TV remote.

Select this and there is the Option TV control with TV remote .
