The current new customer price for the 'Multiscreen' add-on is £15 per month according to the Sky website.
One Multiscreen subscription covers up to four Mini boxes.
The first Q Mini is usually 'free' (no up-front cost) after which there's a £49 fee for each additional Mini box.

Hi I have just ordered this as it was only £7.50 in the black Friday sales, I did not want the £50 one off charge as I'm assuming you get 1 mini box free, as we only need multiroom for our bedroom, so only need the 1 mini box, is it correct you get the 1st box free or do you still have to pay the £50 up front cost
Thanks
Shaun

Did you order a Mini Box as part of the order and did it not say how much it would cost you?
It is possible to have Multiscreen without Mini Boxes, in order to watch on other devices.

@oj01 when I put my order through I picked 0 extra mini boxes as I thought you would get one for free, ah well it's not much of a deal if you have to pay an extra £50 up front for a mini box, I'm guessing I just have multiscreen but can watch it on games consoles etc. I'm guessing I'll have to pay the £50 to watch it upstairs in our room

£49 for an additional box, can I purchase one away from Sky, do they connect easy, I can buy one on the Internet cheaper than Sky can provide. I'd of thought as a loyal customer, I'd of been able to get one for free from Sky.

No you cannot use any boxes you might try to buy off the internet.
If you were to buy off the internet you would effectively be buying stolen propery as they always remain the property of SKY and must be returned when the Multiscreen subscription is cancelled
BTW sometumes SKY wil waive the admin fee for the 1st mini - although rarely, I think, for subsequent ones

If you don't have multiroom it won't work at all.

Yeah I had to pay the £50 up front for the mini box, it come next day delivery, set it up within 2 minutes it's pretty straight forward you just pair it with your main Q box

Well they are getting an increased sub out of you for multiroom so there's something in it for them, worth asking.

You could also connect the games console to watch your Sky subscription upstairs that will save you £50.00 @Robbo0410 or even a laptop with Sky Go installed connected too your tv via HDMI is another option
