Old TV was set up by Sky engineer when we had Sky Q installed. replaced the TV but cant connect to the SKy q main box via WiFi. Internet is working fine as other tvs are connecting to Sky q and the new TV is picking up Netflix etc

The TV doesn't connect to SKY Q via wifi as such.
Although if you have SKY as your internet provider the SKY Q box does form part of the SKY Q mesh (just another access point for your wifi). but you say the TV is picking up Netflix so I am guessing it has connected OK to your home wifi
For TV it must be connected via an HDMI cable.
