How do I upgrade my Sky HD+ box with a Sky Q box?

Simple question, my old Sky HD+ box has to be 'reset' every morning usually twice before it will switch on and work properly, so it's now time to switch to a new Sky Q box - can't seem to find any info' on Sky's website on how to do that!!

Any help, a contact telephone no' or email address etc will be greatly appreciated!

hi @SR56

I believe these are the current methods for contacting Sky. Depending on your reason for making contact some methods are more appropriate than others …

call Customer Services by dialling 150 (free) from either a Sky mobile or a Sky Talk landline.

All calls will start automated which may offer you the online help route or try to send you here to the forum. Stay on the line as long as possible and saying nothing when asked the reason for the call sometimes helps being put in the queue for an agent.

online help via this link
https://www.sky.com/help
At the end of the help it MAY provide a phone number if it's appropriate.

Sky Assistant is now available at the top of sky.com/help (or as a chat bubble bottom right if used before) for most service issues and gives you 24/7 help and a quick response. It will provide you with multiple choice options based on your problem and will provide troubleshooting steps to fix any service issues.

Social Media You can also get in touch via the messaging services on: Facebook, Instagram, or X (links at the bottom of the forum page).

Hi @SR56   I'm afraid that the posting of telephone numbers in the community, is not allowed. Also Sky don't use email as a method of communication.

That's because Q is definitely not 'new': it's now a decade old, and effectively being replaced by Sky Glass & Sky Stream.

Q is still listed as a product deeper on the website, but no longer appears under the Television drop-down on the front page.

It does actually. Sky seem to have quietly re-introduced it there. Q also appears under the Deals tab if you're not signed in to an existing Sky account. £32pm for Ultimate TV apparently.

That's kind of interesting: I wonder if it suggests new sign-ups to the more recent platforms are tapering off.

Still going to run into a bit of an issue when the satellites drop out of orbit though...
