How do I rebook an engineer to install Sky Q?

This is silly.  All I want to do is get an engineer to come ASAP to install Sky Q.  I have a contractor coming tomorrow to install the LMB receiver and so on with the dish so that it will work with Sky Q.  Then Sky's engineer will come back and install Sky Q.

What number do I ring and what can I do to make the robot understand me.  Or can I not talk to a real person?

@IanThomas2 when you get to the robot what happens is you say nothing ?

Is there a reason why you need a contracter to fit the LNB  instead of Sky ?

I have the satellite dish on the roof and the engineers from Sky are no longer allowed to go on the roof of any home.

Even if Sky does now send their installer, they are instructed not to go ahead if the dish cannot be reached for potential future maintenance.  You might get lucky though.

This reply makes no sense. It was a Sky engineer two months ago who told me to use an external contractor and the Sky help desk an hour ago (AT LAST) also didn't flag a problem

hi @IanThomas2

@TimmyBGood  was just advising the Official policy, as we know it - which is that SKY installers should not install kit with LNBs provided / installed by 3rd parties or where the LNB is not accessible afterwards in case of problems.

That said staff are often practical and flexible  - you just need to be aware of the officail policy should there be problems

Thank you both. My first reply was poorly phrased and I apologise for that. But I hope you understand the frustration.

We fully understand where  you are coming from.

Even though we may state SKY's policies etc. to make sure people are aware,, it doesn't  always mean we agree with them

The main reason for the reluctance on allowing 3rd party installs is regarding ownership of any problems - even though sometimes it can be clear cut that the customer accepts responsibiity by using 3rd parties
