I recently hard wired my sky q box to the sky q router. I thought it would connect automatically but I still get buffering problems when streaming hd movies. How can I tell if the ethernet cable is being used. If I go to internet settings it just says broadband is connected and there's no indication of which is being used. I can find no option to choose either ethernet or WiFi.

Disable the wifi in the installer menu
It won't switch to ethernet unless you do a network reset and set it up explicitly.

To enter the engineers menu do the following
press the home button then scroll down to settings and hi-light
do not press select/enter but press 001 then select this takes you into the engineers menu
