Hi @Jim551
Try completely reconnecting your main Q box.
First reset your broadband router.
If on Sky broadband hold the Reset on the back of the router until the power light flashes green (about 10 seconds). Don't unplug or switch off your router while it resets. The power light will go green when it's done.
If on 3rd party broadband and your router does not have a reset button, reboot it by disconnecting the power lead for 30 secs and then reconnecting.
Wait until the router is completely back and running and then try a Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect by WiFi to your router. Even if reset is not listed there is still an option to connect by WiFi to Sky or 3rd party router
If you are on Sky Broadband you will be asked to press the WPS button on the Sky router. (Not on the Q box as the Network reset will start the main Q box WPS automatically). Make sure you press the WPS button on the Sky router and not the reset button.
if you are on 3rd party (non Sky ) broadband then you need to enter the SSID and password for the router 2.4 Ghz WiFi band.

Hi I am having the EXACT same problem and i PROMISE you this does not work it's nothing to do with the Internet it's a problem with the sky boxes themselves iv tried what you said PLUS REMOVING as many devices from the Internet as possible and having a wired connection (this solves the sky q problem but the sky mini WILL still disconnect from the Internet (removed) sky do not know what is happening as all they have told me to do us "contact them" if it happens again fed up of paying for (removed) service. I'm sorry but apart from recalling ALL affected devices there is NO fiX.

Yrs its the new sky router. Wr had them out 9 times plus open reach 5 times. This over 9 months. -
I got so fed up i found someone who fixes computers etc. As i really thought it must be my new computers!
Anyway he arrives i explain the issues. He checks the network with some commands and then says 100% its not your computers! He then logs into the sky router. Goes thru the logs he says theres no dns servers. Means nothing to me. He explains their purpose. So he resets the router dns server came back internet fine then goes away again. This chap then goes out to his van gets an older sky router out plugs it in sets it up. Bam internet after 5 minutes. Half an hour goes by no dropping. He sets up a wifi name and easy to remember password. Then says give it 10 days to settle and ill check back in a couple if weeks.
Well its been 100% fine with that old router. This chap true to his word calked upnin two weeks to check on us.! Sky you should train your your engineers like this person!
