Hi @Haley1

First reset your broadband router.

On 3rd party broadband and your router does not have a reset button, reboot it by disconnecting the power lead for 30 secs and then reconnecting.
Wait until the router is completely back and running and then try a Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect by WiFi to your router. Even if reset is not listed there is still an option to connect by WiFi to Sky or 3rd party router

As you are on 3rd party (non Sky ) broadband then you need to enter the SSID and password for the router 2.4 Ghz WiFi band.

I keep getting the same thing.  No idea why - but it's been fine all spring &  summer, but lately it's a case of unplugging all the broadband equipment & the sky Q box then allowing the community Fibre to reboot, then the sky Q box and going to the setup virtually everyday.

No idea why it's happening now, and so frequently when everything else connects to the broadband equipment fine!  Maybe one of the two needs a software update possibly???

Re: Internet connection keeps dropping

I'm using Community Fibre broadband and have a Sky Q box.  For all of the Spring, Summer etc up until this month (October) it's been fine connecting to the WiFi.

Now, every day for the last fortnight when the box is in standby overnight, it always loses connection to the WiFi (or rather it knows it's there, has one tick for the router and a cross for the internet) - even though every other device connects without fail.

The only way around it is unplug all the router equipment and Sky Q box plug everything back on and one its all booted up, behold - it suddenly connects after setting up the WiFi password etc on the box again!!

This is incredibly annoying and is a major pain in the backside!!

Anyone have any suggestions?!!

Thanks, Andrew.

Re: Hi, I cannot connect Sky q to community fibre- I enter my password and it won’t connect

When I went over to Community fibre It worked with everything except my sky q box, it connected but kept dropping off.

I called in sky and they connected a sky router into my community fibre router and it works perfectly, in fact better as its faster because it think the box is hardwired.

The engineer that came said sky are aware of the problems with community fibre and will most likely have a fix in the future...

My suggestion is call in sky
