Just got a new G3 OLED TV, and noticed flicker from my V3 2TB Sky Q box during 4K HDR sports - specifically on backgrounds like football, tennis and cricket. Am watching this all on Sky Sports UHD.
Has anyone else had this? I cannot get rid of it completely whatever picture mode I choose or use, it seems to creep up.
It shows up in Standard picture mode blatantly (Arsenal v Man Utd last weekend) on that match - but was that down to the broadcast? If I use filmmaker picture mode in HDR I still get the odd flicker coming up/ fluctuation in the background eg tennis last night.
Has anyone had the same? Could it be a faulty Sky Q box?
Kind Regards/ Many Thanks
Rob

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHi @bonkersrwj are you using the hdmi cable provided by SKY?
Try using a different HDMI port on your TV, and that the port is set to enhanced input?

Thanks for responding 🙂
Yes, tried 4 different HDMI cables, and got 4k deep colour on. Definitely HLG HDR coming through.
I've been able to replicate the Man U / Arsenal effect on my 42C2 in standard mode - but it looks like there is a different yet persistent flicker going on with the G3 vs C2 in filmmaker mode. Don't know what's going on - I can replicate the flicker on the tennis with G3 filmmaker HDR but not the C2 filmmaker HDR mode?!?
I had a G2 (which I had to swap out for the G3 with extra cash, as it developed a line of dead pixels, and no new panels left with RS to swap 😞) and never I picked anything up on that (only had it 7 weeks before it broke).
Unsure if this MLQ G3 screen is doing some weird stuff ala picture processing, or do I need to swap my Sky Q box just incase first, before I swap the TV out....
Thanks again for your help!
