Having SKYQ installed soon and need to know if Sony Model KDL26S300 is suitable for mini box
Previous installation of SKYQ at another property had issue with TV it was to be connected to , although there were HDMI connections. Do not want this same problem with our installation. Mini Box is to be connected to a Sony Model KDL26S3000. Been on to Sony but all they have stated is the compatible cable is HD2.0.

That appears to be a set released in 2007, so it's certainly possible its compliance with the HDCP version required for output from a Mini box over HDMI is questionable, particularly if it has never had a firmware update.
HDCP revision | Release Date |
---|---|
1.0 | 17/02/2000 |
1.1 | 9/06/2003 |
1.2 | 13/06/2006 |
1.3 | 21/12/2006 |
1.4 | 8/07/2009 |

Perhaps worth noting a Mini box can also connect to a television set of that vintage using a Nokia CA-75U cable, which avoids potential HDCP issues at the cost of some image quality.

hi @MU422
As the TV HDMI inputs both allow 1080i & 1080p I am confident it will work
If there was any problem with HDCP on the HDMI inputs (which I personally doubt) then you would still be able to use it with a mini in SD mode using an optional AV cable (we can give details of such a cable to buy should you need one) to connect to the Analogue AV inputs
EDIT : I see @TimmyBGood has posted info for these cables whilst I was typing

A set from 2007 might only support HDCP 1.1 while from memory Q needs at least 1.2 over HDMI

@TimmyBGood isn't the specification 1.4 for minis and 2.0 for main Q boxes that are UHD capable and 1.4 for the old 1TB non UHD boxes
I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Fiar point but I just double checked my old KDL20S2030 with my mini (don't ask about my junk room!) which is only slightly younger

I dimly recall a Mini will go back to 1.2
1.4 was the last version in that family before the jump to 2.0 which is based on different encryption.

2008, I think, so built with 2007 component availability and standards in mind.
A 2007 television would be built with 2006 components and standards, and both HDCP 1.2 and 1.3 had a 2006 release.
It's just one of those potentially trickier years which bridges a standards transition.

Would you believe I actually found my Date of purchase in my records March 2007 (earlier than I thought!)

@TimmyBGood i'm completely wrong found the link below although no mini in the link the 1TB non UHD is listed so assuming the mini would have the same output specifications the HDCP 1.2 for non UHD and HDCP 2.2 for UHD boxes
I got mixed up with the HDMI cable specifications 1.4 and 2.0 respectively
