Has my Sky Q box broken down?
For about the 4th time now the TV suddenly goes blank, the Q on the box starts to flash very slowly (eventually stops), the little light on the box goes orange and I've pressed the reset button which is now flashing but nothing is coming back. I've also turned it off at the plugs and waited a few inutes before turning back on again. I think the last 3 times it has come back on without my intervention but not really sure. Do you think my Q box has broken or could it be the TV? Any help appreciated, thanks...

Try a Reset Settings in the Q box hidden menu. See if that helps.
To enter hidden menu press Home and navigate down to Settings but do not select Settings.
With Settings highlighted press 0 0 1 Select.
Only Carry out the first Reset (Reset Settings) as the other two will wipe all recordings.
After the Reset you will have to re pair your Bluetooth remote If you use one.
If you cannot switch the Q box on with the remote after the Reset press the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the box.
To re pair the remote press 1 & 3 together on the remote and follow onscreen instructions to re pair.
Make sure that you are pointing the remote at the Q box when you press 1 & 3 together.
Resetting the settings will also reset:
Audio visual settings, such as picture resolution and HDMI control
Settings changed within the hidden engineer menu, include LNB type. If on a communal dish you need to reset the LNB to SCR in the hidden menu. After changing the LNB type you need to reboot the Q box.

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm not sure I'm competent enough to do all this but anyway I can't do it because the Q box or TV won't come on (or can it be done from the mini box upstairs because that is working fine?).

No it must be on the main box.
When you say you pressed the reset button - which was this ?
If it's was flashing it looks like it was the WPS button

I think it was the WPS button!
