HDR version of Sky Q still available?
Hi.
I have had my Sky Q box since 2017 so it is getting on in age and I reckon the hard drive is coming to the end as nearly every recording pixelates!
This isn't for the entire length of the recording as it's sporadic but it is nonetheless annoying.
I know there is talk about Sky ditching the satellite dish in a few years time in favour of streaming services so I was wondering if Sky still offer a HDR version of Sky Q as I have a HDR UHD TV.
Many thanks in advance for your advice.
Cheers 🍻

Hi @Mikeyboy67
Yes, you should be able to upgrade your Q box for HDR but there will be a charge.
You need to speak directly to Sky.

@oldfella - thanks for replying!
Yes I remember now that there will be a £50 charge but I don't mind paying it as I have to say that Sky Q has been brilliant since day one IMHO.

Re: HDR version of Sky Q still available?
I just thought, I know I have to send the old Sky Q box back to Sky, (I know what to do as I have sent back my old router last year), but what I am wondering is do Sky need to send an engineer around to install it or can I do it myself as I only have to connect the 2 satellite feeds and ethernet connector on the back of the box?

Re: HDR version of Sky Q still available?
When you upgrade and you get the opportunity for the box to be delivered to you (self install with no engineer visit, if that is available on ordering) follow the setup as described here.
Do note, that when returning your older box to remove the viewing card, as you will use that with your new upgraded box.
