Try it online or through the MySky App.

Are you press the get button in the app to create a HBO max account though Sky using the same log in you used to log in with discovery plus. Is that log in the same as your Sky id log in, if they are different that might be the problem. If this is the case try activating using you Sky id log in. It you need to press the " get button " to activate a Sky HBO max account. Do not try using the "log on " button that will not work and will just produce a error message. If you still have problems you will need to contact Sky to get it sorted.

Re: HBO Max is Now Included in Most TV Packages!
I read in an earlier post to use the Sky App to activate my the HBO Max which has now been done. The next challenge is how to download or make the HBO Max App available on the SKY Q Box

You don't, it's already there. It is way to the right of the Apps row, presumably once it's been used it should move to the left although I'm not 100% on that. Whatever you're watching should appear on the continue watching row though.

I can honestly say the HBO app is not there.
Is there something I can do help refresh the SKY Q for force an update?

HBO Max not full screen
I have just added HBO Max to Sky Q, it seems to either show films with black lines above and below the picture or in some cases on the sides of the picture. It does not do this when showing the adverts. I have Disney+ and Netflix which does not have this problem.

HBO Max will show movies in their original aspect ratio so anything in Cinemascope with a 2.35:1 ratio will have large letterbox bars in order to preserve the full image. Pillarbox bars at each side of an image are used when something has been shot in the more square Academy ratio.
Disney+ and Netflix do the same with movies and series which are shot in alternative aspect ratios.

Hi @Paul+joy As with all Apps (all platforms including Sky Q), use the DirectionUp or Down and find the subtitles setting. In the case of HBO Max, DirectIonUp twice, subtitles setting far right.
Note: English = normal text, English CC = all uppercase.

Hbo activation problem
Hi everyone i have 2 sky accounts seperate emails are used for the accounts. i activated hbo no problem via the mysky app and it was all going fine.
Until i went to activated my mothers ( my 2nd account) For some reason as soon as i clicked on the activate hbo link on mysky it linked both of my sky accounts to hbo rather than asking me to set up an email.
i wanted both accounts to be seperated. Rather than using the same email.
after speaking to 4 people at sky they eventuslly managed to remove sky form hbo for me so it now only shows i have one account. but now on the mysky it still says its activated! And i need it to say ready to activate so i can try to do it again using a differant phone. Anyone no had this happen to them and managed to sort it? Sky are not very good at dealing with this.

Re: Hbo max
I've just managed to do it by clicking the centre OK Button twice when I'm in the DD box and a keypad comes up at the bottom so you can then type in the numbers
