Re: HBO Max is Now Included in Most TV Packages!

Okay, that was pretty easy going, I now have HBO Max with ads set up, only took 2 - 3 minutes doing it via my Sky Q box.

One question. When I clicked on the film One Battle After Another, it says " Get Access ". What is that about? I don't want to click buttons on the screen only to be charged for something.

@Maniatore2006  I didn't need to scan any QR codes. I didn't need to log in to my Sky account. I did the whole thing with my Sky remote.

Re: HBO Max is Now Included in Most TV Packages!

I've had a browse around the HBO Max pages. Whilst I do admit there is a lot of great content available, unfortunately, I have seen most of it already. I have a few things in My Stuff: two films, one series, a Mel Brooks documentary & some stand-up from HBO Comedy Half-Hour. I was a bit disappointed there wasn't more in the stand-up comedy section. When HBO first started out, they had a lot of great comedy shows on their network, but they don't seem to be available on this platform.

The browsing setup of titles & genres is okay & it's all fairly easy to use. I like the way I add shows/films to My Stuff.

In conclusion, it looks good, there's plenty of good content, but personally, I'm not sure I will be using it much.

It tells you that in not in your present package ie entertainment with ads you have  to upgrade your package, probably  the moves package,  to watch it. But don't worry if clicked on you won't automatically get charged it will just come up with a print to take you to you to another screen, in your case if you have just get free with ads package though sky it will tell to get in touch with sky to upgrade and sort out the payment details.

@Mr+Ripley

Regarding the "get access" films I wondered the same as you. Apparently if you upgrade to the standard (£5) extra per month or the premium (£10) extra per month then those films are included for us. However, if you have Sky cinema those films are already available to watch through Sky cinema. If you accidentally click on one of those films in HBO max app don't worry. You can't upgrade or get charged for the film through the app.

Sound like you need to sort that out with Sky

Basic with ads does not give you access to all the movies. You need to upgrade to Standard of Premium for that then the "Get Access" no longer appears. One Battle After Another is available in any event to download on Sky from today if you have a Sky Cinema sub. Sinners was already available via that route.

hi @PI8

If you are getting a code each time I think it may be due to not finalising the account on another device to set a password

I think that once you have,  then the activation should only be needed once

Re: HBO Max is Now Included in Most TV Packages!

I find it a bit odd that on my Sky Q box, when I scroll down to the Apps section, I then have to scroll across 10 tiles before I see the one for HBO Max. You'd have thought Sky would make it the first tile available, especially today, launch day.

Re: HBO Max is Now Included in Most TV Packages!

So this 'upgrade' means that the programmes I once watched in uhd and hdr ( Kinght of the 7 Kimgdoms etc) and with the ability to ff through adverts, I can no longer do so unless I pay another £10 a month. I've just tried to watch an episode and it's in HD.

this is not an improvement  and I feel a little ripped off here.
