@Nick42  You are only allowed one make n box but can a mini box for the addition room if you add multi screen this will alleviate independence of viewing with all recordings being held on the main box

hi @Nick42

As @SKY1992bf  SKY Q works differently and all recordings are stored on the main box only & accessible via any box (except UHD recordings as UHD only works on the main box)

You may, also, wish to read some notes I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q (which mentions this amongst other points)

SKY +/HD to SKY Q

No: that's not possible with Q, as a fundamental design decision made a decade ago.  Viewing habits on each box is visible from the other, and recording space is shared (although UHD recording can only be played back on the single main box)

Re: Future installation of skyQ

All this is assuming that Sky Q is still being offered as a product.

Which I don't think it is any more.

From what I can tell, it might not be available in-store either, beyond "let's talk".

Re: Future installation of skyQ

Ah, that's better, if this discussion ends up resulting in a Sky Q installation.

I have Sky Q myself, but not a great internet connection so I kind of worry about being forced onto internet based viewing.

Re: Future installation of skyQ

I booked my installation on line and have received my new sky card for sky q

I just wondered about being able to view different programming in both rooms.

Re: Future installation of skyQ

Yes it is or was last week because I compared what I am pay as an exsisting subscriber and what is being g offered to new SkyQ subscribers  actually the difference was only£20 per month for a contract with every thing and multiroom for 2 year contract
