I have come to the end of my tether with Sky Broadband, having had issues with it for years. The technical team at Sky, and the Engineers who come to my home all blame something different upon every visit/phone call. We have 3 Sky Q boxes and they are forever going dark with the error messages "Sky Q Mini box connection error, “There is a problem connecting to your broadband router”, “There is a problem finding your Sky Q box on the network, “There is a problem joining your network”. I have to draw a line under it., especially as Sky hit us £45.00 a month for Broadband that cannot go past 50kb going downhill.
It's a silly question. When I first swapped from Sky + to Sky Q, you couldn't get all the functionality unless you subscribed to Sky Broadband. I cannot remember if it was downloading movies/programmes etc, or if it was another sort of restriction. When we swapped to Sky Q with Sky providing the Broadband, we got all the services from Sky.
Is it still the case that you need to get both services from Sky, or can I still get 100% of the current use I have/haven't got, such as downloading series, movies, streaming via the skybox?
I have gained grey hair trying to get an answer from the skybox on the website, any help would be gratefully received.

The restriction at launch was that the Q television boxes weren't wireless hotspots when Sky wasn't the ISP.
That's since been changed.

I've only ever used BT for my broadband and have never had any issues. You may have to add a Sky booster (free if required) as the Sky Q & Mini boxes will need to setup their own 'mesh' to communicate.

There is no loss of Sky Content when moving from Sky+ HD to Sky Q regardless of broadband supplier.
The main difference when using Sky Broadband is that the Router becomes part of the WiFi mesh and can be used for connecting minis or Boosters.
With 3rd party broadband if using WiFi the minis will only connect to the main Q box or Q WiFi boosters connected to the main Q box.
Also on 3rd party broadband the main Q box can only connect to the router 2.4 Ghz band.
