Freeview ok but unable to switch to Sky

After watching Sky channels I switched  the TV off with the remote.  When I switched the TV back on via the remote and  then tried to  switch to  Sky , I just got a blank screen with HDMI in the corner.  Have tried rebooting and updating software (box only recently installed) but nothing has worked.   I would appreciate any advice as not even the virtual assistant could understand me.

Which Sky System do you have?

Its a Sky Q box.  Had it about three months

Hi @GranndmaChris   It should work if you switch on the Sky Q box first (not the TV), that should then turn on the TV and put it on the correct HDMI input.

Hi both, thank you for your very prompt replies.  I am very embarassed to say it is now working.  My husband pushed the tv back into its correct position and Sky just came on.  Really don't know how that happened!
