I read today that you can get free uhd on sky stream but for us on sky Q we will still have to pay not only for HD and then UHD On top.
Whilst a lot of members may enjoy VIP rewards I never been lucky enough to benefit from them, so come on sky why not make this a VIP reward or even better just make free to all !!!!

hi @Peterw1511
UHD is an add on to SKY Stream which of course, maybe offered for free in deals - as often it can be on SKY Q usually when taken out with more than one add ons such as Multiscreen and Cinema and/or Full Sports
Although I think deals on SKY Q have become less in recent times whilst SKY are indeed pushing Glass/Stream
BTW Advert skipping is also an additional charge on STream which is free on Q

Hi Sky super user
thank for your reply
I saw the report that sky were offering UHD free of charge to sky stream customers on the daily mirror on line site. I find it annoying that even with SD channels are being shut down HD is not free and UHD is subject to a premium charge. I personally would rather they
gave me the option of UHD for free as a VIP diamond customer than a the option to apply for possible tickets to events most of which don't interest me and haven't been lucky to win the few I have entered for.

VIP rewards are effectively free to Sky: removing the HD and UHD supplements would be a direct hit to profits, and consequently somewhat unpopular with Comcast stockholders. If only half Q users pay for the HD add-on that's something like half a billion pounds a year income.

So if it would hit their profits how come they can make it free for stream ?

Hi @Peterw1511 Because the incentive is to move people to Glass/Stream.

Right now I am thinking the opposite.
We are finding it impossible to move from Q to Stream.
We are having an extension and the dish will need to be removed. Seven different agents are more concerned about sending a specialist installer than letting us move across.
One even told us we need to go to a Sky shop first to to register our interest in Stream and then call back to order. **bleep**!
And thats before the inconsistency in sub prices!

Be aware that nothing is available on Freeview in UHD. The most you'll get is some iPlayer content in UHD with HLG HDR, if the box you purchase supports it.

Maybe note that no Freeview content is transmitted in UHD at all: the 4K branding relates to app output, for which there's an extra charge made by most of the app providers to get that resolution.

@Philduff I'm guessing you can't watch in HD as you do not have the HD subscription ?
