The wife has just taken a call from Sky and they are saying that they want to offer us a sky Q minibox for free and nothing else to pay on top of my current subscription. I thought they would offer me a free box but I would then have to pay multiroom subscription, but they are saying that’s not the case.
Being a bit sceptical and knowing from old that Sky don’t offer anything without getting something in return, so I’m just wondering what they get out of this, or if anyone got any thoughts on this ‘deal’?
The rep is phoning back later on today so I’m just thinking forewarned is forearmed.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThat isn't Skys normal outbound phone number so I'd be wary especially if they've suggested you click on a link somewhere. If in doubt call Sky by recognised methods
You can call Sky free by dialling 150 from a Sky Talk landline or a Sky Mobile, otherwise you can use:
https://www.sky.com/help/home
UK customers: Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number.
ROI customers: change the flag in the bottom right corner of the link to the ROI flag then scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0818 number.
(The forum doesn’t allow us to type the numbers in full).

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Daniel0210 I knew that this didn't sound right as soon as I saw thread title my scam alarm went off
@jules007 I'll be highly surprised if they did phone back, but if they do I personally would put the phone straight back down

The same thing happened to me in May. The first i knew about a €20 charge was when it appeared on my latest bill.
Impossible to make contact with a human representitive for the past 6 days - no answer to ANY phone number - so i'm waiting to hear back from them via Whatsapp.

btw
My call was from Sky - not a scam. They sent me the minibox - but there's nothing in writing sent to me via email nor is there anything in the My messages area
