Firestick to play through soundbox

Hi

I have recently got a sky soundbar

I have a firestick in hdmi1 and sky q in hdmi2

I can't get sound to play when firestick is on via hdmi arc

I've tried all the different settings in the firestick but nothing 

I can get sound via Bluetooth but don't won't to have to keep changing and quality isn't as good 

Any ideas

Unfortunately I am fairly confident that the SKY Soundbox does not support ARC

You mean hdmi1 and hdmi2 on the TV?

Yes

Sky q and Soundbox hdmi 1

Ah ok so the Q goes through the soundbox. And is HDMI1 your arc port on the TV?

If it is then that won't work, the soundbox (if it does support arc) needs to be plugged into the arc compatible port.

For some unfathomable reason, Sky and Devialet chose not to specify the Soundbox with ARC : that's almost certainly a decision which contributed significantly to it not being a successful product.

The anticipated way to get audio to the Soundbox from the television set or a device plugged into the TV is over an optical audio link, but not all televisions support audio pass-through.

An alternative setup which isn't officially supported by Sky is to put an HDMI switch (not a splitter) on the Soundbox HDMI input and have both the Firestick and the Q box running into that: the switch needs to support 4K at 60Hz and HDCP2.2
