Faulty Sky Q box - tried online help steps still have the problem.

Hi,

My Sky Q box is regularly not connecting to my wifi - the wifi router is literally 3 feet from the sky box, i have done a software update but it still gives the warning on the home page that its not connected. If i unplug and plug the box back in, it connects, but i have to do this every time i turn it on now! I need a replacement box i think. My wifi is fine on all other devices in the house.

What are the next steps? Is there a number to call for me to order a replacement?

Thanks in advance.

Adam

Being that close to each other, have you not thought about hard wiring them together via ethernet?

I have booked in an engineer to sort it thankfully. I dont have a spare ethernet port available from the router.

Thanks,

Buy a small switch.  The one I've got can be powered from the USB port on the back of the Q box.  https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BD7SS75S?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1

Ethernet is much more reliable.

I would 100% put a cheap switch in there

Do you have minis?

Thanks,

An Ethernet switch (as recommended by the others) is the obvious first step, but one that a Sky engineer is very unlikely to implement. I would get one ordered so that they can set it up for you when they come out
