F1 won't record on series link

I've series linked everything from the f1 weekend for years. When I had sky+ it was fine. After moving to sky q maybe 5 years ago (and despite series linking everything f1 race related) I have to re-record/series link the main race, the chequered flag and the first main race highlights every weekend. The press conference, the f1 show, p1, p2, p3, sprint race, quality all record no problem. Ted's notebooks sometimes record, sometimes don't.

Hi @PTR999   I am not sure what is happening with your box but every F1 series link has worked for me for 8 years on Sky Q. You need to remember that sometimes the series link does not appear until the Thursday before the race. I don't know why this is, perhaps something to do with the uplink negoiations. I have never missed a race on both HD and UHD. I record both to watch on the bedroom Mini for the early race starts.

You may be aware but many may not be that the Series Link on SKY Q does not show on all programmes that are linked  within the next week.

It only ever shows on the next programme in the link and then will show on the one after when this first progaremme starts to record, so mid week the only programme that tends to sow linked is the Driver's Press Conference

Like @MightyQuinn  in my 7 years now of SKY Q (2 different boxes) , I think the series link on F1 has only faield once or twice for me

Mine is still letting me down. Recorded first six weekends then failed to record Monaco and Canada. No practice, qualifying or race. Sky engineer has replaced the sky-q box but neither of us think that it will cure the problem. Time will tell.

Absolutely livid. Set up yesterday to watch race, made sure it was the right channel, made sure it was the lead up I was recording, made sure I didn't make it a series link, made sure it was the live GP, made sure I had enough space, confirmed it was alll set up on the scheduling. Sat down to watch race and it's not recorded it and has recorded Teds notebook, which I didn't want and the highlights which I didn't want. Can't get it on catch up as doesn't exist and am extremely **bleep** off. Sky Q is complete rubbish so I am cancelling everything Sky related

Why would you not set series link?  GP's are now split into multiple parts.

I tried before on Series Link and it didn't work. I read on the forum not to use series link and it still didn't work.

Sounds like a sure-fire way of not recording it.  At the very least ensure each individual programme is set to record if not using series link.

It is crazy that a company like Sky get people to subscibe just so they can see F1 races and then if you series link the F! it records everything apart from the actual races. Its so poor from Sky.

I wouldnt mind so much but this has been going on for years!

Agreed and moreover I haven't received or seen any reply from Sky other than continually offering me community badges. That's why I am done with them. I have broadband, phone and Sky Q. I will find another way to watch the F1
