Watching the F1 today and the red button popup is totally out of control.
The "Race Control & Recap" message is popping up every minute or two, often overlaying graphics and also dimming the whole corner of the screen which is seriously distracting.
Usually it pops up infrequently but is totally ridiculous today and is affecting the viewing experience.

Doing it again during the race now! Pops back up every few minutes and won't go away unless you press backup! You'd think Sky would know what they're doing by now wouldn't you!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that was annoyed by this! I found a quick fix; pause the race for 5 seconds and then press play. It won't pop up again! 🙂

You might not think it's an ideal solution but you could do what I do, record the race and watch it slightly delayed. Even watching 30 seconds behind live will prevent the annoying pop ups.
Edit: Just read again @Anonimouse007 post and yes pausing a few seconds gives the same solution.

Two weeks later and this is still happening. Only ever happens on the F1 channel. So annoying.

@DanManF1 have you tried following the advice given in the above posts ?

I've the same issue today and it was happening two weeks ago for the Miami race. I had to use live pause to offset and watch a few seconds behind Live to stop it from appearing every two minutes.
I've reported it to Sky so will just have to wait and see if they sort the broadcast.

Hi, the pop up is out of control. It will not go away for more than a few minutes.

Same here. This notification is unnecessary and irritating. It's covering up things I need to see.

So what happens when you press the red button as I fail to see it if I'm watching F1 UHD only time it pops up if I've selected HD from the relevant tile

I watch in UHD too. The "press red button" is constantly nagging to be pressed. If I press the red button it opens up sky sports interactive function and applies some scaling to the F1 feed that degrades the picture.

Fair comment but again not noticed any difference in the picture quality by using Sky Sports interactive to watch F1 in UHD via the red button.

Neither did I have an issue whilst watching the HDR version live. But logo's dimming is a issue with oled tv's as they'll automatically dim part of the screen when a logo is present for a certain length of time to prevent screen burn https://www.lg.com/my/tvs/oled-tvs/oled-reliability
LG's seem to have a version that some find particularly agressive and irritating, but it can be turned off, at the owners risk of course.

Hi,
I feel this is a configuration issue with the UHD broadcast. The normal behaviour for the button, I believe, is to pop up when you switch to that channel and also after an ad break, but not every two minutes, and certainly not constantly through qualifying and the live race.
If I switch to the HD channel instead then the button behaves as I'd expect and just described above, but over on UHD it just keeps coming back.
Obviously if you have UHD then you're not going to want to watch it in HD. For yesterdays race I ended up watching UHD, but about 5-10 seconds behind live.
