Elderly dad downloading multiple movies
Hi everyone, my dad loves his Sky and it's his main entertainment for the day however he is not great with the controls and keeps pressing buttons he doesn't mean to. As well as recording almost every programme going which is fine I can manage this for him, he is downloading movies and buying them without realising. Just this morning at 8.30 and then 8.32am he's managed to spend £25 on two movies.
Issue I have is it's his Sky and he pays the bill. He's an adult... while he doesn't have dementia he's 86 and doesn't get what I am telling him about it all. If i PIN protect it he will just be annoyed with me and want to know the PIN which is fair enough as it's his TV.
Can I remove the payable movies?
He won't miss the ones you need to pay for as he has loads of other content to watch and Netflix and so on, he's not specifically wanting to watch any of these films he's just browsing around and thinks he's downloading to watch another time etc without understading some cost money and others don't.

@Sarah10101 afraid the paid for movies cannot be removed. The only option as you have found out would be to pin protect then but as you say that may cause problems
I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Re: Elderly dad downloading multiple movies
Having separate PINs for purchasing and age control has been a fairly frequent request for many years, but unfortunately Sky have never chosen to implement it.

Re: Elderly dad downloading multiple movies
@Sarah10101 In addition to want @Laing1 posted , you could try asking sky to completely remove the spending limit on the viewing card so it is set so he can't actually purchase movies through the box

Re: Elderly dad downloading multiple movies
Okay thank you - that's a shame.
I will see if Sky will remove or cap the spending limit as that would go some way to helping!

hi @Sarah10101
Just to manage your expectaions, as it is your Father's account you may not be able to persuade SKY to do this, unless you have a Power of attorney (even then I am not too sure)
