Download speed for films very very slow

For the last few weeks. Sky Q box glitches when starting up. Says it's connected to broadband, but doesn't download films quickly.

we have 1Gb broadband and the box is wired to the router and it still acts like it's given up.

 

i expect the hardware is old and needs replacing. We've had it for over 5 years.

 

please send new box straight away. I am sick of resetting everything to try and get the box to work!!

No one is going to send you a box from a post here.

 

This is a customer helps customer forum.

 

Download speeds may well be throttled regardless of your broadband performance.  Downloading a large film may take 15-30 minutes but the purpose is simply to download faster than you can watch it.

My box was like this. Also have a 1Gb connection. Surprised hard wiring hasn't helped. Do you have wifi fully disabled on the Q box? I found it liked to keep going back to it on the sly.
