Do I need sky broadband for sky q

I want a sky q box so I can then purchase sky sports. Do I need sky broadband to do this? I live with my mother and have just bought sky broadband. I want to sky q for myself and pay for it myself etc. Can i buy it without having broadband myself on my account?

I think the assumption at the call centre (or the online order process) will be that Q television is being added to the existing Sky Broadband account: there may be a way around this but it is potentially a complicating factor.

Note that Sports is only available as an add-on to the baseline subscription channel bundle.

This thread here from January shows that you can have a separate TV and Broadband account at the same address. (That particular poster actually wanted to two accounts but apparently that's not possible)
