Ask Discovery+ if their xbox version is affected too.

Hey all,

I wanted to thank you for your contribution to this thread. We’ve been working with the teams at Discovery+ who have confirmed they’re testing a fix for this issue, with the hopes of the app being updated mid November.

We’ll update this thread when we know more.

*Temporarily marking this post as the answer until we have more updates on the issue.*

This only works if you only want to watch U programmes. You can't change the age limit in a kids profile.

You can change it to 15 as has already been discussed

I would suggest reading this thread to see why that is not a solution though and see that we are now waiting for a proper fix

Re: Discovery+ Age rating on screen wont go away

I'm so glad this came up. It's been driving me mad!

It's just a shame the Discovery+ person I spoke to was completely unaware that this was a known issue and just gave me the usual, check your broadband, uninstall/re-install the app etc etc!

Thanks for the update Sky.

Well thats quite worrying if they dont know about it because it has been reported for weeks now to them and also according to sky, they are working with discovery+ to solve the issue,so no idea who is telling the truth.

Also did you not ask them how they expect you to uninstall and reinstall the app when its on sky q? That isnt even possible.

Sounds about as helpful as the 2 people i spoke to at discovery+

Re: Discovery+ Age rating on screen wont go away

Yeah ours does the same and leave a black border at the top and bottom of the screen. I'm watching gold rush and it's doing it currently.

Re: Discovery+ Age rating on screen wont go away

I'm sure these customer service centres tell their employees to lie and say they've never heard of X issue before.
I've lost count of how many times I've been made to believe I'm the only one with an issue I've reported, despite their being dozens of other people reporting similar problems online.

How long do these fixes take?

Re: Discovery+ Age rating on screen wont go away

All appears to be resolved.

Reset my Sky Box by unplugging from mains waited 10 mins and plugged it back in yesterday.

I was using the temp fix with a 15 age rating profile before restarting the box.

Today using the all age rating profile the banner nolonger stays on after adverts .it appears that a fix has been installed and maybe reseting my box accepted the update ? Maybe someone from Sky can confirm.

Re: Discovery+ Age rating on screen wont go away

Only kinda fix iv found is to add a pin to my account then it goes away until the next set of adds then the age rating stays on after adds unless you go out to previous screen then straight back in again.

It then does this at every add break.

Maybe they should just get rid of adds until it's sorted 😆 🤣
