Disappointed with access to EFL matches
I have the Sky+ subscription and can watch a match live via my Q Box no problem
What I cannot do is record my favourite teams game later today because I will be out and they are a red button match. It seems to record it I have to be here physically to start the channel and then record it - this is not good enough
My next issue is only being able to watch away from home using a phone - which I never use for health reasons. Why can this not be ported to a Windows laptop or PC.
Come on Sky why can you not sort this out

Which do you have, Sky+ or Sky Q because you can't have both?

Re: Disappointed with access to EFL matches
Recording the streams as you have discovered is not possible.
And you will also be unable to access the streams on a laptop or PC but can on a mobile or tablet via the Sky Sports app.

@BlueWotsit57 no one can record from the red button since the change as pressing the red button now takes you to the Sky Sports+ app which you cannot record from
Sky have made the decision not to allow PC's, laptops and macs to be able to use the streams only phones and tablets whether this changes in the future no one knows
so it doesn't matter what subscription anyone has ie multiroom etc we are all in the same boat
I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Re: Disappointed with access to EFL matches
I sort of get the lack or recording, not only technically but also being able to watch the games 'as live' is probably the thing that would impact ticket sales at the stadiums most.
I don't get the refusal to allow PC viewing. That means we're stuck with ipad in our house and it won't cast or mirror to our TV.
Also may be club specific, but the quality of the feed at Gillingham was abysmal. One fixed camera that seemed to lack the ability to zoom, didn't cover the two corners on that side of the ground.
I don't suppose I was expecting a full Sky Sports transmission, but that level of feed plus watching on the ipad was a pretty poor experience.
And it's not free, it requires a Sky Sports or Now payment to watch.

Just to clarify, as per the article on the News section at the top of this page Sky don't say it's free. The first paragraph states it's at no extra cost.

Re: Disappointed with access to EFL matches
No 'extra cost' doesn't mean it's free. It costs money to view it, that's a fact. Existing Sky Sports subscribers are already paying a bloody fortune. Any EFL fan who isn't a subscriber & wants to watch their club on this new service will have to pay extra for it. Glad we cleared that up.
And to clarify my first post, we don't have multi room so that's an ipad in any other room as the ipad doesn't cast to other TVs in the house, but you can HDMI cable to the PC, except with Sky Sports+..

Re: Disappointed with access to EFL matches
What frustrates me about this is that all the promotion suggested if you had sky sports package you would get access to the EFL matches. However what it did not mention is that if you did not have a more up to date sky box (we are on sky +) you would not be able to watch the matches. False marketing information!!

Hi @steveh900 Sky+ is no longer supported, so assume Sky Q, Glass and Stream when you see any marketing information.

It's clearer than that, e.g. "Once live, Sky Sports+ will simply drop into the existing Sky experience, across Sky Glass, Sky Stream, Sky Q, and NOW."
of course access is possible from any device that supports the app.

What the News article said was
"Please Note: Customers with Sky+ (with a full sports subscription) will receive the new Sky Sports+ Channel, but will not have access to the live streams as Sky+ is not compatible with the Sky Sports App.
Only customers with the complete Sky Sports pack will get access to Sky Sports+ at no extra cost. Anybody with individual sports packs will need to upgrade."
