DPD would not leave the replacement SKYQ unless faulty box handed to him

I requested a replacement SKYQ box and delivery was made by DPD yesterday. However, I had messaged SKY Help to advise that I could not handover my faulty box to DPD, as my faulty box needs to disconnected and installed on our communal system. by a local TV service and repair company. I have asked SKY if I could therefore return the faulty box as soon as possible via a DPD Pick up point. However, DPD had not been advised of this and could not deliver and leave the new box with me unless the old one was swapped immediately on delivery. Please can a normal delivery of a SKYQ box be arranged again and DPD advised that the faulty box is not be handed back to them for return.

Afraid for this, you will have to call Sky to arrange.

DPD will always be expecting to do a doorstep swap of your Sky Q box.

Plus, rather than a Sky Q doorstep swap self install, it may be wise to get Sky to arrange a Sky engineer to visit your home to install and swap over the box.

@Ziggy14

l’m afraid you aren’t speaking to Sky Customer Services by posting on here. This is a customer ➡️ customer discussion forum where we try to help other Sky customers.

The doorstep delivery method is just that. The faulty box (take the viewing card out) must be handed to the courier. It should not make any difference that you have a communal dish. Also accept the power cable the courier brings in case it's a different fitting to the one you have.

There shouldn't be a need for a TV repair company to unplug the faulty box.

As @oj01 indicates, unless you have a particularly stringent residency agreement there shouldn't be any need to employ a specialist contractor to make changes past the socket within an individual dwelling unit: their remit is further up the path towards the shared dish.
