Controlling Sony tv connected to Sony soundbar with sky q remote

Hi, this has suddenly stopped working after I rebooted my sky q box because the red recording light was on with no recording taking place. I have a Sony Bravia connected to a Sony soundbar via an optical cable, my sky q remote operated on/off on the tv and volume on the soundbar, but now it won't control the soundbar and I can't figure out how it was originally set up. Any help appreciated.

Hi thanks for reply, no it is just an optical cable from soundbar to tv and the sky q box is connected to the tv via a hdmi cable.

Many thanks. @Mrmoonster

Not sure why you would loose operation of the Sound bar but not the TV (or even both really)

May I suggest you try a reset of your remote:

Press & Hold the 7 & 9 until the remote's light (red LED above the SKY logo button) flashes 4 times

Then press 1 & 3 together to go through to re-pair with the box and your TV - make sure it has line of sight of the box as until it is paired it uses Infrared

After re-pairing with your TV you should get an option to pair with your Sound bar

hi @Mrmoonster

I will reply here rather the other discussion you posted on.

Can I ask is your Sound Bar connected to your TV via an HDMI cable even though you may be using an optical cable from SKY Q to listen to SKY
