Purchased a new bush smart tv tried to connect sky q to it all that happens is the no signal instruction goes across screen
I have tried different hdmi ports nothing
the box is still showing as recording the new tv has wi fi but does not connect to box
I have done all the steps turned off mains with router waited nothing

@Snutch With the SKY Q box on try pressing the following keys in sequence
Home 1 0 8 0 Home
43" Glass TV & Puck Whole Home

Not sure what you mean by this? You can only connect a Q box to the TV via HDMI lead.
If the Q box was working previously then this could indicate a fault on your new TV.

Not sure who you are responding to and what information...
But hopefully you've now plugged in a HDMI lead and found it works.

@Snutch not sure how you expected to get the Sky signal to your TV unless it has a skyq minibox built in.
Presumably the hdmi cable was used to connect to your old tv?

I'm having the same problem. An HDMI lead known to be working is connected, and the TV displays the sky set up screen then goes blank. There is the option to select Sky Q as a source so it's connected. Everything else is working on the TV, and it is connected to the internet, it just won't display Sky.
