Weak signal would indicate you are trying to 'tune' your TV...

Connect the HDMI lead from from the Q to a given HDMI input and then select that HDMI input on the TV.

If CEC is enabled you should be able to hit the home/Sky button to force the TV to switch the Sky input.

The hdmi port is shown as selected on the tv but my sky remote is doing nothing!  What is CEC? I've just taken ghe connections out of my old tv snd put them in the new one in the right places.

hi @MJM8

This means your TV is trying to display either the TV's Freeview tuner or possibly the TV's own Satellite Tuner.

You need to select the HDMI that your SKY Q box is connected to - initially use the TVs own remote control until you can see the SKY Q box menus

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consumer_Electronics_Control

Amongst other things it allows devices to 'control' the TV, particularly to select an input...

Have you paired your remote with the new TV?  (Although the Sky remote is primarily to control the Sky box)

For now use your TV remote to select the HDMI input...

@MJM8

You can't pair the remote until you can see the SKY Q menus - which is why we have advised using the TV's own remote to select the HDMI SKy Q is connected to.

Did you try prssing Home 1 0 8 0 Home on theSKY Q remote ?

Re: Connecting skyQ box to tv

Hi yes I answered. Home 1080 home didnt work. There is only one hdmi port on the tv but the settings shows 2. However both say weak signal. I tried pairing the sky remote with bluetooth but although bluetooth is connected on the tv it didnt pair.

Unfortunately we can't advise on your TV's own settings - although if you can tell us the Model number we may be able to find some info

If you have affected the pairing of the SKY Q remote I suggest you reset it until you can see the SKY Q box menus

To reset the SKY Q remote Press & hold 7 & 9 together until the red led above the SKY logo button flashes 4 times.

After this reset of the remote you will need to make sure the remote always has full line of sight of the SKY Q box until you can re-pair with the remote with SKY Q box
