Connecting sky q to Tv with scart

I have sky q with multi room. I have a small tv with only scart connections. Can I connect the sky q  to the scart using an adapter if there is such a thing?

hi @Martina54

Is this for the small multirrom 'Mini' box  - if so yes this can be done

You need 2 items - one is a Nokia CA75U cable  which plugs into the SKY mini  but as it has phono (aka RCA)  plugs on the other end, you then need a phono/RCA to SCART (input) adapter

@nigea99

Thanks for your reply. Does it connect to the AV on the back of sky q mini box?

Yes it does.  Note you'll need an RCA to SCART adapter (L/R audio with composite video) : these tend to be uni-directional (or switchable, but the switches are glitchy and unswitched is more reliable) .

No problem.  The CA-75U hasn't been manufactured for years, but you'll find lots on eBay for a few pounds.

Mnay thanks for the pics @TimmyBGood

@Martina54  - one minor point - the SCART adapter that @TimmyBGood posted shows an output SCART adapter and you will need an Input (or switchable) one

Ah, I read that as output from the block ; )

Probably why I've never had any luck with the things...

Maybe the 'official' Xbox adapter is the way to go: I think that's unswitched RCA to SCART and probably reasonable manufacturing quality.

Re: Connecting sky q to Tv with scart

I have ordered a cable and the scart adapter came today. I then realised that I had a cable from an old cine camera. I have connected the sky box but all I got was the sound and no picture. The sky remoter control is able to change the settings to hdmi 1 and 2. However I couldn't change the channel. So I don't know what the issue is now. I will try again when the new cable comes. I am away for two weeks so I won't be able to check it out until then. If anyone has any further advice it will be much appreciated.

Yes - There are a few different ways that these cables / connections are made  &  I  have a couple of cables from old video cameras - one will not give video, the other does give me video & sound from the mini but not out of the 'assigned' connectors (i.e. video comes  from one of the sound labelled connectors & one of the sound channels from the video labelled connector)

The reason we recommend the Nokia Cable is that seems to be wired correctly for use with the SKY minis

Re: Connecting sky q to Tv with scart

I had a similar issue, and was wondering what cables to buy, in the end i actually bought a cable that converts AV straight to scart that seems to work well:
