Hi,
I cannot connect existing Sky Q to the new fibre router that sky have provided. It took me a while but all other devices (phones, tv's and hive) have connected. The only other problem is a 1st generation Echo.
I have gone through all guides, rebooted all sky Q and the router, to no avail!
getting bored with it now and wishing I hadn't changed from the copper connection.
hoping to find a wizard out there that can tell me some magic.

Thank you all for suggestions and input.
I have managed to connect the booster to the main sky Q box via a LAN cable and force it to connect. Issue is now resolved and now I can focus on trying to connect Echo.
At least I can now watch the F1 tomorrow!

hi @Swjjenks
Have you carried out Network reset on the Main Q box.
Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect by WiFi to your router.
As you are on Sky broadband you will be asked to press the WPS button on the Sky router. (Not on the Q box as the Network reset will start the main Q box WPS automatically). Make sure you press the WPS button on the Sky router and not the reset button.

Thank you for a speedy response. All actions have been carried out. Q box used to be hard wired to router, up until fibre installed. No reset option available to the right of the network status.

Hi @Swjjenks
If there is no reset option there should be options shown to connect by WiFi to Sky Router.
So you still should be asked to press the WPS on the Sky router.
Why did you disconnect the Ethernet?

Hi @oldfella ,
the options to connect are there and the WPS button has been pressed, on either the router or the extender.
I used to have the router in my sons bedroom. His gaming sucked up the WiFi for other users, so I hardwired him in. The fibre has replaced the copper line, so the router has no choice but to go in the hallway. I extended a phone line up to his room to work it.
For clarity, the main sky Q is upstairs with the mini downstairs. Again he is the main user and the only real reason I have a Q mini is because I love F1 🤷♂️.

Don't understand the "I extended a phone line up to his room..."? What has this got to do with the connection to your router?

Hi @Invisiblename,
the router was placed upstairs so that we could use a lan cable to the main sky box and an Xbox, previous router was connected to copper phone line, which was extended to the bedroom. Now fibre has been installed we can no longer have the router upstairs, therefore hardwiring is no longer an option. So now we're trying to connect with WiFi, but it doesn't work.

Hi @Swjjenks
What version is your WiFi and where is it positioned in relation to the other boxes and your router?

Yeah I've heard of this working before. Similar to the wifi extender approach or meah mesh node.
I think the confusion earlier about the phone line was how that maintained your son's hardline to the router? And if it did, could the Q not use the same approach?
