Connecting main box and mini via Ethernet

Hi. I have a mini box in the annex which I have directly connected to my main box via Ethernet. I’ve had to do this as I am on a 3rd party internet provider. It all works fine but problem is, my WiFi connection to my main box is very poor. So I wanted to connect via Ethernet to my router. But the port in the back of the box is already being used. Can I use a splitter at the back of the box?

Hi @Greigadam   Yes, a gigabit unmanaged switch.

Note that you do not want to acquire devices specifically advertised as ethernet 'splitters': those are passive cable hardware for another purpose.
