Connecting Sky Q to non Sky Broadband - kit?

My broadband is via Brawband and more and more my Sky box is losing connection to our router and I have to reset it.

I contacted Brawband who have advised it is due to not connecting to a Sky broadband and that there is an extra piece of kit that the Sky box is plugged into.  The device then connets to the router for internet connection.

Does anyone know what this device is and how to get it?

Sky Q will connect to non-Sky routers.  However, they will only connect on 2.4GHz band.

Ensure your router isn't steering to 5GHz.

The 'device' you're talking about are probably Sky extenders - more for range issues.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Surely a broadband connection is just that and can be plugged into any device requiring internet access etc.  Perhaps your current ISP could be more specific. Not a good advert if your (ISP) router/modem can't properly connect to a mainstream streaming service. Unless of course there is a SKY conspiracy theory lurking behind this?
