Went to Vodafone full fibre today and once I turned on my TV tonight it seems that I have no internet connection. The router has not been changed and was working fine before the new fibre installation. I have tried to reset the network and tried various ways to reconnect the Sky Q box to the router but to no avail. Even have a booster that is provided by Sky previously but still cannot connect. Takes a long time to manually enter the details and have checked and double checked that all SSID network details and password details are correct. All other devices have connected ok to the router it's only Sky Q that doesnt want to connect to the router. I have also tried various types of security and re=entered all details and password. Keeps saying connection unsuccessful please check settings.
Any advice appreciated.

Hi @Iain31
Sky Q boosters will not connect to 3rd party routers.
First reset your broadband router.
On 3rd party broadband and your router does not have a reset button, reboot it by disconnecting the power lead for 30 secs and then reconnecting.
Wait until the router is completely back and running and then try a Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect by WiFi to your router. Even if reset is not listed there is still an option to connect by WiFi to Sky or 3rd party router
On 3rd party (non Sky ) broadband then you need to enter the SSID and password for the router 2.4 Ghz WiFi band.

I wondered if you had managed to sort this? I have exactly the same issue and have tried all the steps with no success. Everything worked fine before and all of my other devices have connected without issue.

Sarah, Yes is the short answer. Took nearly two weeks to sort out with calls to sky and Vodafone. It turns out that my router was at fault and was not sending signals out to the sky Q box. Once my router was replaced it was plugged in and I connected straight away. I did have some success plugging a cable in from router to the back of the sky box and this connected straight away which proved it wasn't the sky box. Hope you get sorted.

Iain I have a sky engineer coming today as I have the same issue which I cannot resolve - sky Q is not compatible with vodafone and settings need to change to ensure compatibility or else I have to go back to sky broadband which nobody wants to do. Any thoughts on how to change the settings?

Phil,
I also had a sky booster fitted which helped resolve the issue. If you have a sky engineer coming they should be able to sort. I didn't change any settings sorry

The booster doesn't communicate with your router, it boosts the signal from the main Sky Q to your Sky mini box.

Sorted. Brilliant service from sky's engineer. Installed a new sky booster connected to the Vodafone router then reset the sky Q box and mini boxes to connect to the new sky booster.
