Im trying to connect my Sky Q Mini Box (that is in my garage) to the main box which is in the house, but it seems to be too far for the signal to reach.
I'm assuming I will have to use ethernet, unless there is another alternative?
I've also read that if I use ethernet that i would then have to wire the other mini box using ethernet too as I do not have sky broadband. Is that all correct or would it be possible to have one connected over wifi and one using ethernet?

Back when I used Q I had one Mini cabled and one WiFi with BT as the ISP, but then my main Q box was also on ethernet which apparently makes a difference.
Booster range in that situation will depend largely on building fabric: if either external wall has foil laminate foam insulation then that's effectively a Faraday cage. Note that Sky won't loan a Q booster for Q television use in an outside building anyway.

Powerline networking functions for some Q users. A Q booster right at the edge of the main building might work. Non-Sky WiFi is viable as long as the Mini itself has an ethernet connection to a mesh nodes.

So just to check, even though I don't have Sky WiFi I could still connect one mini box via Ethernet (or powerline) , and one via WiFi, they don't both have to be using the same method?
Also, any idea what the range of the booster is like?
