@SnoooTwo

Ethernet cable, Powerline networking adapters or specialist point to point WiFi hardware making a wireless bridge to a local ethernet switch.

Hi @SnoooTwo

Ethernet is probably the best option.  Exterior grade.

If you are Sky Broadband then the Ethernet can be either to the main Q box or the mini.

On 3rd party broadband you would have to connect the mini to the main Q box (unless all boxes are connected to the router by Ethernet)

Can the main box be connected via wifi and then the mini box by ethernet cable?

Yes @SnoooTwo

Provided the Ethernet is connected to the main Q box

Re: Connect sky Q mini box in garden room

ethernet from the main box to the mini box is not a logistical option though

OK @SnoooTwo

that means you cannot connect the mini by Ethernet to the router if your Main Q box is on WiFi.

One option would be to use two Powerline units to connect the main Q box to your BT router.  The main box and router need to on the same consumer unit.

Powerine is not guaranteed and depends heavily on the condition and complexity of your mains circuit.  If it is successful then this would mean that the Main box is effectively on Ethernet and so the mini can then also be Ethernet connected to your router.
