So the Sky Q box has 2 satellite cable inputs but there is only satellite outlet on the wall. I have connected the cable with one connection to the sky Q box and I have changed the setting on the Sky Q box to SCR. There is no satellite connection. Do I need an adapter so there are two cables to connect to the Sky box?

Also do I need to connect the main box under the stairs where the intake is and then have repeater boxes in each room?

Is that a new address?
Did you book a Sky Home Move?

What would a satellite cable point be doing under the stairs?

Maybe start at the beginning and explain the circumstances which have led you to attempt a Q installation (which isn't really intended to be a DIY task)

@MH2114 after changing the box to SCR did you then reboot the box as you need to reboot it after changing the setting ie turning the box of at the wall socket for 20 seconds then turning it back on

As @Laing1 mentions you must poer down the SKY Q box for it to complete the switch to SCR mode.
Many Communal installations do need an 'adapter' to allow SKY Q to work but this is not to run dual cables but to be able to work with legacy systems to respond correctly to the dSCR commands sent from the SKY Q box. These are installed by SKY MDU trained engineers in the communal distribution cupboards needing permission from the Building management
