i have followed your instructions but find the only option to communal aerial  - SCR

is Wideband.   Is this the same as single

Can you explain exactly what your doing?  Sky Q requires a dish and not an aerial.

If you're now using a different dish (?) it needs the appropriate LNB for Q.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

@Rupert+100  If I understand you correctly, you are attempting to use your own satellite dish, instead of the communal Integrated Reception System installation, to feed signals to your Sky Q receiver.

If this is the situation you will need to have a Wideband LNB fitted to this single satellite dish, with two coaxial cables installed between the Wideband LNB and your Sky Q receiver.

Then, you will need to change the LNB mode setting of your Sky Q receiver to use WIDEBAND LNB mode, before removing the mains power to your Sky Q receiver for around 30 seconds before restoring mains power to your Sky Q receiver in order to allow it to reconfigure itself to actually use Wideband LNB mode.

Re: Change of aerial

Excellent, very many thanks. I have already fixed the new LNB ( at my caravan ) but it would not mate to the box.  I also seem to have a problem with resolution as it is a cheap and cheerful TV  ?

@Rupert+100 so from that I take it you are taking your Q box out of your home and to a caravan to use

If thats the case I'll just say that to do so is against Sky's T&C's where the viewing card must only be used at the address it is registered to just so you are aware

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Re: Change of aerial

Thank you for your help.  Still not solved problem. It now seems resolution is the problem. My set at home is a high resolution set and it seems I must reduce same to mate to lower spec set i caravan.

Minimum you can set the box to (without being able to see the screen) is 1080i using the home-1-0-8-0-home remote sequence.

how cheap and cheerful are we talking?

Re: Change of aerial

Thank you, the TV is a  JVC cheapie with a resolution of c. 1080.

Can you clarify the "home" sequence to change the resolution.  My home set is LG Oled set at 2160 10 bit.

On the remote hit that sequence and the box will reset to 1080i

or just change it through the menu while at home.

@Rupert+100

Just to add to what @Chodley has advised

pressing Home 1 0 8 0 Home is designed to default the box to 1080i & is used to reset when for any reason a device is unable to display at a previous setting (i.e. can be used without needing to see an image)

Most TVs with an HDMI connection should be able to respond to a 1080i signal even if their native resolution is lower

Also as @Chodley says you can set it on your main TV before moving it (it will probably look awful at anything less than 1080)

Having said that,  I should re-iterate the reference to T&Cs  regarding location as mentioned by @Laing1
