Cant use my sky mobile remote

As my sky remote stopped working many months ago, I have to use my mobile to turn channels over. I for some reason can no longer connect to it and programs are not recording

Why haven't you arranged for a new remote? If your Sky Q remote is definitely broken/faulty , if you follow this link it should allow you to do some troubleshooting and then send you to a form to request a replacement (this is not available for ROI customers).

Otherwise you can purchase a new one from a lot of retailers / main supermarkets.

I didn't think I needed to buy a new one as I could use my mobile instead

As Sky Q equipment is loaned to you, if the remote is faulty Sky will replace it free of charge although it's sometimes quicker to buy one.

There is no app you can install on your mobile that will let you operate your Sky Q box.
