Hi ,
Just installed a new 86" LG Tv which I am running through my Onkyo TX-NR595 receiver.
The Spec of the amp says HDMI 6 In / 1 Out (4K UltraHD / HDCP 2.2) so I assume it is ok to pass the UHD signal .
Prob is that I get the UH011 error and cant set the box to UHD.
If I connect direct to the same port on the TV misssing the Onkyo, it works fine.
Any suggestions ?

Have you tried connecting its input to the HDMIarc output on your TV if it has one and see if that works, that might take you a step nearer to finding what the problem is.

The Q box is connected directly to the input of the Onkyo ( 7.1) amp and the output of the amp goes direct to the eARC HDMI input on the TV . There is nothing else in the system...this is a basic surround sound setup .
The port on the amp is stated to be HDCP2.2 compliant .The TV clearly is compliant cause it works when I connect direct to it...

Can we just check that the lead from SKy Q to the Onkyo is <3m ?
Looking at the Onkyo manual I can't see any reason why it should not work - although I will try looking a bit deeper in case there is a setting needed.
Just out of interest have you tried more than one input on the Onkyo ? If not although unlikely to change anything it might be worth a try

One further thing to check :
Although hiighly unlikely this is the problem, double check the TV settings for the eARC Port to make sure it is set for Deep Color or similar setting (I can't remember the LG specific one) as each HDMI are often set separately

But have you tried connecting the input to the amp to the HDMI arc socket so it works as an output from the TV.

OK , sussed it I think.
The LG box was set for 4k deep colour which didnt work when connected through the Onkyo.
When I switched this off, the Sky Q box then immediately let me select UHD in 8 bit mode ..
I now need to see how to set it at 10bit mode ...

I'm not familiar with Onkyo's but a lot of AVR's have a HDMI mode setting in the setup menu which affects how an external HDMI signal is handled.
You will need to have Deep Colour switched on on your LG for it to work in 10-bit mode.

I have an Onkyo Receiver and I had to switch the HDMI inputs to enhanced mode as described in https://www.onkyo.com/manual/sup/upd/hdmi_4k_onk.pdf
