Hi,
On my Sky app it offers me the opportunity to upgrade to get sky sports for £22 a month.
When I try to upgrade it won't let me. I called sky and they said as I am on Sky Essentials I cannot take this offer out without subscribing the the basic sky tv service which is an additional cost per month.
Isn't this false advertising?
Any other thoughts on how I can take up this offer as sky customer services weren't very helpful.

@RichK afraid you cannot you need to have Sky signature as a base pack before you can add any other subcriptions.
I am sure somewhere in the T&C's it states this
I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer
Sky Q 2 TB (Silver)Box, 2 Mini boxes since June 2016, all connected by wifi
Sky Broadband Hub/SR203, Sky Ultrafast broadband
Ultimate on Demand, Q Experience/UHD, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema
LG 49SJ 810 V UHD TV, Google Pixel 7 Pro mobile

As @Laing1 indicates, an add-on such as Sports requires the baseline subscription to be Signature or Ultimate TV (or the legacy Entertainment bundle) : it cannot be on top of Essentials, which is just the free-to-air channels.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Thanks for the replies.
Real shame that sky cannot offer Sports standalone. Without having to need to subscribe to other tv channels. I have explored this with Now TV. But steaming not the same.

Re: Cannot take up offer for Sky Sports on Sky essentials
I had only the basic SkyQ TV essential pack £15 and recently added the SkySports inc + £22 offer, so yes absolutely it is possible and I know others who have done this also.

I believe it may have changed in the last 6 months. (You can also have multiroom)

Re: Cannot take up offer for Sky Sports on Sky essentials
Just as an update, I also have Sky Q Essentials and I was able to add just the Sky Sports pack now priced at £25/month. I have a rolling monthly subscription (Sky Q Essentials at £15/month) so when the F1 season finished I can easily just cancel the Sky Sports subscription.

Re: Cannot take up offer for Sky Sports on Sky essentials
Hi, who did u contact to add it? I currently have tv essentials with the football channels. The app offers upgrade to all sports for £20 but link doesn't work, I assume something to do with having essentials & no sky signature. I tried the retentions text but they only offered a rolling £34 a month.
