Today I cancelled Sky Stream, intending to move back to Sky Q.
The agent cancelled down Sky Stream and gave me prices for Sky Q, but said I had to wait 31 days until Sky Stream was completely cancelled before I could order Q. Seems a bit strange as I'll be without Sky for some time, as I'll have to wait for an engineer appointment once I order in a month's time.
Is this correct, or should I have been able to order Q straight away when I cancelled?
He gave me the following prices for Q (though I can't order at the moment):
Sky Signature £24.50
Netflix without Ads £10.5
HD £5
Ultra £2
Cinema £10
I'll be getting rid of Cinema and Ultra HD anyway, but looks like the prices for the rest are still quite high compared to what others have been offered. Not sure how it will work for me though, as I guess effectively I will be a new Sky Q customer again, so I don't know if I'll be able to get win back offers etc.

You should be able to cancel stream immediatly and pay the 31 days off, then take sky q out straight away without waiting.
I would give sky a call and see if they can do it.

Re: Cancelling Sky Stream and moving to Sky Q
Im guessing it will be creating a completly new account for you when you take out Sky Q, you can't have 2 active accounts at the same address in your name at the same time. One way round it might be to take it out in a partners name ?

Re: Cancelling Sky Stream and moving to Sky Q
Thanks for your reply. Ah okay that makes sense.
Unfortunately it's just little old me here, so looks like I'll just have to wait the 31 days to be able to order Q.

Re: Cancelling Sky Stream and moving to Sky Q
I found this from on another thread
"Unfortunately it's due to sky only allowing one account per address. You can't have two TV services so in order to order Sky Q they have to terminate the stream first."

Re: Cancelling Sky Stream and moving to Sky Q
Thank you. It's a shame Sky won't let me end the Stream contract immediately if I was willing to pay the 31 day notice in advance, and then get the ball rolling on Q now.
Will just have to wait it out I guess. 🙂

Re: Cancelling Sky Stream and moving to Sky Q
Thank you, success!
I called Sky again and got through to a very helpful chap. He said that it could all be done on one call and should have been offered when I initially called.
He had to reactivate Stream to take it out of "pending cancel", then cancel it again with immediate effect. I don't have to pay the notice period.
Placed my order for Sky Q and the installation is booked for next Thursday 18th April.
Cheers for your help!

Re: Cancelling Sky Stream and moving to Sky Q
Can I just ask a stupid question? How on earth did you get through to a human on the sky phone lines? I'm calling their main number and can't get to a human at all. It's driving me nuts - they keep saying everything is available online but there's no option to move from Stream to Q. Heeellllppppppp....

Re: Cancelling Sky Stream and moving to Sky Q
I phoned 0 3442414 141. Say you want to cancel Sky Stream on the automated IVR. Then it will ask if you are thinking of moving to Sky Q. Say yes and it should put you through to retentions. I got through to the Scotland call centres. Good luck!

Re: Cancelling Sky Stream and moving to Sky Q
thank you very much @dorset25 - I managed to get through eventually and am now without TV for 7 weeks until the engineer installation date for Q. Very frustrating experience trying to break through the IVR and the slowness of the Q setup process is ridiculous....

Unfortunately with the impending end of the satellite service, Sky have been cutting jobs on the dish installation side of their operations, hence the delay in getting Q set up.
If you have a reasonably new smart TV then you can still watch live streams of all the main free-to-air channels via their apps. BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4 and My5 are built in to most TV's released in the past five years or so, so all you need to do is connect your TV to your broadband.

thanks @lettice for changing the answer. Seems you don't like other people making it up the ranks.

Sorry, did not realise your post was actually what had helped the OP.
Post 7 solved the Ops problem of the thread, but had not realised was referring to your previous posting.
Have reinstated your post 6 as the answer.
