Can you get sky Q upstairs with out it being linked to downstairs yet?

We want sky Q but with out the boxes being linked together! Privacy on each box so we can not see what downstairs have recorded upstairs and the memory separate that does not get linked together

Is it possible yet?

Afraid not @JR100

You can have up to four minis installed on loan each subject to a one off upfront charge and all under by one single Q monthly Multiscreen subscription
However only two minis can be used simultaneously on all 2 TB boxes and the 1 TB UHD Main boxes to watch Sky Q content.
The original 1 TB non UHD box (32Cxxx) only permits the use of one mini at a time.
If Sky Apps are already being used on some of the minis these will not normally be counted as in Q use and therefore can be used in addition to the above limits.
See the following link for the Versions of main Q box referred to above.
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-software-updates.
Subject to the above limits Sky Q minis can be used completely independently of the main Q box and the same or different program or recording can be viewed on each Q box. Even if viewing the same content it is completely independent and can be viewed at the same or different point.
Minis can do all the features same as the main Q box and can set or delete recordings on the main Q box hard drive. There is one single storage area on the main Q box with no profiles and no indication of which Q box has set a recording. (Unlike Sky+HD Multiroom which has independent storage and planners).
It should also be remembered that minis cannot view UHD recordings or content.

No @JR100 and I suspect it won't as Sky Q is reaching its twilight years.

Hi @JR100

Afraid it's not ever going to happen.

Sky Q life is limited now due to the Satellites reaching the end of their life

Out of date technology then

Why can't they make the box turn off the shared links up and put memory in each box like with sky +

no fighting over shared memory and not rubbish record that shows on the other box

It should be so easy it is crazy that option is not available

@JR100

As we've reiterated it's not going to happen.

@JR100

Because it's one main box per account/address.

@JR100 Its pointless carrying on, Sky Q only has a few years left in it before its withdrawn, there is no financial point in Sky making any hardware or configuration changes.

Sorry it is not what you want to hear @JR100 but it simply was not deisgned that way.

SKY Q boxes use a wideband LNB & these wideband LNBs don't have a 2nd pair of wideband ouputs

The whole premise of SKY q was designed around the (network connected) minis  and they did not consider or decided it was just not suitable to provide User profile saparation
